Getting to know Natalie Smith

Hi there, I'm Natalie! I am an open-minded, optimistic person who enjoys dancing and singing loudly. I love relaxing and watching good shows or movies as well as working in the garden. Based on the person's needs, I may use a variety of modalities including CBT, Humanistic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. My approach It's all about what's best for you. This is a time for you to work though understanding your emotions and thoughts. Therapy is a time for you to find clarity, and that's what I hope to help you do. My focus Whether you are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, self-image, or other life pressures, I am here to listen and provide help as needed. As your therapist, I want to be a guide for you to navigate the challenges you may face as well as assist you in identifying ways to navigate yourself through tough situations, thoughts, and feelings. My communication style I provide a calm, open space for clients to discuss their concerns. My hope is that you feel welcomed with a judgement free environment that allows you to be your most authentic self. My journey to mental healthcare I attained my Masters in Counseling in 2016, and I started providing therapy to school-aged children in 2020. I transitioned to providing therapy for adoptive/foster families and adults in 2021. I am currently a school counselor and provide therapy to adults during evenings and weekends. I really enjoy helping people reach their full potential and rediscover reasons to love themselves and others. Prior to counseling, I was a teacher, and working with youth, I recognized a need for strategies to help them manage difficult emotions and life situations which led me to the counseling field. I continue to work with children and adults for this same reason. Life can be difficult, and we often need someone on the outside to help us navigate these difficult moments.
