Getting to know Nataly Acevedo

I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern practicing under the supervision of Sandra Calzadilla, LMHC. I truly value creating a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and able to be yourself without judgment. I work with children, adolescents, and adults (6+) navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, mood challenges, and life transitions. I understand that reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to walk alongside you—helping you build insight, develop practical coping skills, and feel more grounded and confident in your daily life. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies tailored to your unique needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I also incorporate Mindfulness-Based Therapy to support present-moment awareness and reduce stress, Trauma-Focused CBT to gently process past experiences, and Somatic Therapy techniques to help reconnect the mind and body. I offer sessions in English and Spanish, both in-person and via telehealth. Session Information (Self-Pay Rates) • Therapy Evaluation: $180 (60 minutes) • Therapy Follow-Up: $160 (60 minutes) These rates apply to self-pay patients. If you are using insurance, the cost of services will be determined by your insurance plan based on your specific benefits, copay, coinsurance, or deductible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I focus on creating a space where you can feel at ease being honest about what you’re going through, without feeling judged or rushed. Building trust is really important to me, and I take the time to understand your experiences at your pace. I tend to keep sessions flexible and tailored to what you need in the moment. Sometimes that means talking things through and gaining clarity, and other times it means working on practical tools you can use outside of session. I draw from approaches like CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based techniques to support you in ways that feel realistic and helpful. Above all, I want you to feel supported and involved in the process—like this is your space to reflect, grow, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we first start working together, I take time to really get to know you, your background, what you’re currently going through, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. This helps us create a plan that feels aligned with your goals and what matters most to you. In our ongoing sessions, I aim to provide a space that feels both supportive and productive. We’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns at a pace that feels comfortable, while also working on practical tools you can use in your everyday life. I incorporate evidence-based techniques, open conversation, and skill-building to help you manage challenges, improve emotional balance, and gain deeper insight into yourself. As we move forward, we’ll check in on your progress together and adjust goals as needed. My goal is to keep therapy meaningful and helpful for you, creating a space where you feel engaged, supported, and empowered to grow over time.
