The world’s a dumpster fire, to put it mildly. I know it, you know it; I won't sugarcoat that. But we only get one shot here, and therapy’s a legitimate excuse to take a deep breath, put your phone away, disconnect from everything, and talk about YOU. What do you want? What are you passionate about? Who do you want to be at this moment in time, and what’s getting in the way? Maybe you don’t have the answers yet, or maybe you have an idea but the way forward is illusive. Regardless, you wouldn’t be here without recognizing change is necessary. That means you’re already invested in you and the path you're on. I sincerely respect that.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I love the arts and storytelling, and have spent many years in the arts and various fandom communities. This part of me often finds its way into the work I do, and the rapport I build with others. I believe that we all carry trauma and pain that is uniquely ours, but we can combat that trauma by acknowledging it in tandem with celebrating our uniqueness, our passions, and our sense of identity. This kind of empowerment ripples outward. Because of this, I strongly believe in striving for individual and social justice while celebrating diversity and sex positivity; doing so not only begets the best version of ourselves and our relationships, but aids in strengthening our communities as well. I welcome older adolescents and adults of all ages, expressions, and orientations, as well as individuals within relationship dynamics of all kinds.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I strive to meet clients wherever they are on their journey towards empowerment. Working on you or your relationships isn't always easy, but it doesn't have to feel like work. I love using humor, storytelling, and embracing the things you're passionate about to identify your personal strengths and challenges. While doing so, we'll strive to identify what's serving you and what's creating unnecessary obstacles, both self-made, and those shaped by external forces and expectations. On a practical level, everyone's journey looks different, and everyone's therapy needs are different. We'll discuss up front how to best utilize our time together and how to comfortably and confidently take the first steps toward achieving your goals
