“First appointment she was able to listen to me, compassionate, friendly and kept reminded me that there will be light at the end of the tunnel even though it does not seem like it for my situation. At the end we did a small meditation which was able to relieve some of my chest pain. I can’t wait to dive deeper in the next appointment.”

Getting to know Neelah Pincus

Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Barry University and a Bachelor's degree from Lafayette College. With over 20 years of experience providing individual therapy services, my goal as a therapist is to help stressed-out individuals feel less anxious and overwhelmed in their lives. I support clients in building confidence to make positive changes that empower them and foster healthier relationships with those they love. Through mindfulness therapy, I provide coping skills and potential solutions, offering clients the opportunity to find peace while navigating various life challenges. I believe therapy equips individuals with tools to reduce anxiety and stress, promoting overall well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that a supportive, compassionate, therapeutic relationship is so important and that it is one that will help lead to positive change. Clients feel more balanced in their lives after working with me because they recognize the importance of gaining a true sense of self. Clients gain tools to help with both the psychological & the physical symptoms of anxiety/depression. I know it takes courage to reach out for help, but it would be my pleasure to assist clients on their journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me starts off with an initial evaluation whereby I ask specific questions about what the client’s current symptoms are and what the clients needs and expectations are for our sessions together. We will hopefully meet weekly via Telehealth appointments and evaluate progress in treatment as I provide strategies and skills for helping with mental health symptoms. Once goals are met in therapy, which is very different for each client, discharge will be discussed together.

Scheduled doctor for initial visit same day because I was in need of mental health support. Doctor did not appear for my appointment. Both myself and Zocdoc tried to reach them. Waited in the waiting room for 20 minutes before giving up.They called an hour after and tried to reschedule but I already booked with someone else. I understand mistakes happen but I booked on Zocdoc for this so I would receive treatment only a couple hours after since I was desperately in need of both emotional and mental health support today. Disappointed by the lack of thought.

I felt comfortable to speak with her this is my first time sitting down with a therapist and I appreciated my first time feeling so rewarding to myself.

Neelah is a great listener and doesn't judge at all. She is extremely intuitive and giving of herself to make clients more comfortable. I have seen her for just under a year and a half and have made some incredible headway on my personal journey with her as my rock and sounding board. I have had a lot of family trauma and sought to get bariatric surgery, knowing that I would need support in reconciling my trauma with my relationship with food if the surgery were to be successful. She helped me navigate that and much much more. Kind, sympathetic, and funny! Conversations with her are like talking to a big sister who actually has great advice!

I have had bad experiences with therapists in the past, they were just not helpful. Neelah is so easy to talk to and she is never judgmental. I have gone through some traumatic experiences and she really talked me through the experience. Additionally, she has brought to light things from my past that are influencing me today. I now have the opportunity to go back and deal with some of the things I did not even realize were still having a negative impact on me. Neelah provides a very comfortable space to share ANYTHING. As a psychology student myself, I highly recommend her.
