Getting to know Neha Darji
Neha founded We Rise Therapy and Wellness after recognizing the lack of awareness, stigma, and need for more South Asian therapists. As a first-generation South Asian woman of color, Neha easily relates to the challenges faced by women from minority backgrounds. She is passionate about working with women of color in their 20s and 30s to help them develop coping strategies, enact positive change, and enhance their inner strengths. Neha's calm, professional demeanor and warm approach allow her to build meaningful relationships and establish a strong foundation of trust with her clients.
With many years of experience working with teens, millennials, and women from diverse backgrounds in various settings, Neha has worked in non-profits, inpatient and outpatient mental health, in-home, and substance use environments. These experiences have given her credibility and confidence in her counseling skills. She received the Krista Szabo Scholarship Award for her commitment to cultural competency, specifically for her research and work with young adult women of color on trauma, dating violence, maternal relationships, and high-risk behavior.
Neha completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Bioethics at Loyola University Chicago. She earned her Master of Science in Psychology: Clinical Counseling from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. She holds dual licenses as a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois.
Neha offers an integrative approach to therapy, utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Neha Darji is a Licensed Professional Counselor, license number 37PC00604500.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I honor you for seeking counseling. Often times, making the choice to ask for help can feel uncomfortable. Change is scary. Vulnerability can feel risky, make you feel emotionally exposed. But I assure you that this work you're about to put in, will be all worth it at the end. I look forward to witnessing your growth in therapy. I utilize CBT, ACT, mindfulness, narrative therapy and trauma informed treatments. If you're a mom trying to balance in all, experiencing anxiety and depression, and wondering if there's more to this,there's space for you. If you're expecting or going through the infertility process, together we can process the emotions, and know that you're not alone.
