Neyla Sassi, MSEd

Psychotherapist
4 Gilder St, # 2, Larchmont, NY
I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, life stress, emotional overwhelm, and difficult life experiences that may affect relationships, confidence, and overall well-being. I also work with couples who want to strengthen communication, work through conflict more effectively, and deepen their understanding of one another. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and empowering. I believe meaningful change begins when people feel genuinely understood and supported. In therapy, I help clients recognize their strengths while developing insight and practical strategies that allow them to move forward with greater clarity and confidence. My professional experience in the child welfare system and as a school counselor has given me valuable insight into how life experiences shape emotional well-being across different stages of life. I earned my Master’s degree in School Counseling from Lehman College and later completed an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Alfred University. My training allows me to support individuals and couples as they work toward healthier relationships, emotional balance, and personal growth. I offer both in-person therapy at our Larchmont, NY office and virtual sessions for clients located anywhere in New York State.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or unsure how to make sense of what they’re going through. My goal is to create a supportive and welcoming environment where you feel comfortable being open about your experiences, and where you feel heard while also working toward meaningful, lasting change. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity and respect. I take the time to understand your experiences, values, and goals so that our work together feels meaningful and tailored to you. Rather than telling you what you should do, I help you explore patterns, gain insight into your experiences, and develop practical ways to navigate challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy and identifying the areas of life you would like to work on. This allows us to develop a clear direction for our work together. As therapy progresses, we explore patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be contributing to current challenges. At the same time, we focus on developing practical strategies that help you respond to those challenges in healthier and more effective ways. We will adjust our work together as your needs and goals evolve.
