Nia Grant, LPC

Psychotherapist
AZ
I provide counseling services to individuals and couples dealing with mental health concerns and common life stressors. I have been independently licensed for 16 years, and I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings with various populations. My approach My primary approach to counseling includes meeting the individual or couple where they are. I believe that a collaborative approach, along with a good rapport, is the key to a successful outcome. A non-judgmental environment is also provided so that individuals are able to be open, honest, and vulnerable regarding their areas of concern. My focus My ideal client is someone who has identified that their current way of doing things is no longer working for them as well as someone who is ready for change and willing to allow a professional to assist them on their journey. Only you know what is best for you. My role is to simply help you reach your desired outcome. My communication style My communication style is warm but direct. Motivational interviewing is used to assess where you are as well as your readiness for change. Rhetorical and open-ended questions are also used to help you think and dig deeper regarding internal conflicts that might be preventing change. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been empathetic and able to see things from the perspective of others. I also have the ability to meet people where they are. So, I obtained a BA degree in Psychology in 2003 and an MA in Professional Counseling in 2005. I became independently licensed in 2009 and have been in practice ever since. My goals for you The individual(s) will work in tandem to create specific outcome-based goals. During sessions, I will assist with identifying obstacles and barriers preventing desired outcomes, and together we will create a treatment plan to help you achieve your desired outcome.
