Nichelle Chandler, LPC

Nichelle Chandler, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I began my career as an employee of the state of Texas as an investigator for Child Protective Services. I quickly came to realize I wanted to do more to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families. I went on to earn a Master's degree in Counseling, and soon after, I became a licensed practitioner. Almost 20 years later, I have had the pleasure of working in residential drug rehabs, inpatient and outpatient drug rehabs, schools, mental health clinics, and private practice. I am a well-experienced Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I enjoy working with women, men, children, and adolescents of all ages. I am specially trained in the treatment of Substance Use Disorders and Addictions. I’ve had the pleasure of helping hundreds of teens and adults struggling with substance addiction. As a Registered Play Therapist, I am trained to address the needs of young children. Some of these include conduct, anger/aggression, anxiety, trauma, socialization, grief, divorced parents, and adjustment challenges. Common challenges I help adolescents address include bullying, substance use, anxiety, depression, stress, family relations, peer relations, and many other concerns. In addition to being a clinical practitioner, I have had a long-standing career as a college professor. I greatly enjoy teaching and mentoring counselors in training.
