Getting to know Nicholaus Moore

I am a licensed clinician with a commitment to evidence-informed, client-centered care. My work draws on a collaborative approach — meeting clients where they are and building a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, curiosity, and genuine engagement. I have experience working with a range of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational challenges, and trauma. My goal is not only symptom relief but meaningful, lasting change that aligns with each client’s values and vision for their life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is direct but warm — I ask questions that matter and I don’t believe in wasting your time. Sessions are collaborative; you won’t just be talked at. I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities and tailor my approach to fit the individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all framework. New clients can expect an initial focus on building rapport and getting a clear picture of what’s bringing them in, followed by goal-setting that keeps us oriented and accountable.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is focused on understanding what’s bringing you in — your history, your goals, and what hasn’t worked before. From there, we develop a shared treatment focus rather than following a rigid protocol. Sessions are structured but flexible: there’s always a purpose to our time together, and I track progress so we both know whether the work is moving in the right direction. I draw from multiple evidence-based approaches and shift methods as needed based on what the clinical picture calls for. Clients can expect to be active participants — therapy works best when it’s a two-way process, not something done to you.
