Getting to know Nick Ehrhard
Hi there, I'm Nick!
My name is Nick Ehrhard. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working directly with clients struggling with various mental health and societal challenges. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Louisiana State University. I specialize in working with families, children, teens, and adults, collaborating with a variety of organizations including Child and Family Services, court systems, and primary care providers.
My approach
My therapeutic approach blends cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, humanistic, compassion-focused, and person-centered therapies. In short, I want to meet you where you are and move at a pace that works for you.
My focus
Historically, I have worked with children and adolescents. My enjoyment of movies, music, video games, and the arts has helped me connect with youth by understanding their culture and communicating on their level. Over the past five years, I have expanded my work to include adults, parents, and an aging population, often due to shared life experiences.
My communication style
The tone I bring to sessions is like talking to an old friend. I approach clients as if we're catching up at a barbecue after not seeing each other for a few weeks or months. I strive to provide comfort and a safe space to discuss both comfortable and uncomfortable topics.
My journey to mental healthcare
My skills developed during adolescence, when friends and peers found me approachable for discussing difficult topics. I have always offered a listening ear, even when it wasn't easy. Listening and helping others is my passion and who I am. During my undergraduate studies, I focused on psychology to better understand how people think on both individual and group levels.
