Nick Riemenschneider, LPCC

Psychotherapist
135 Cherrybark Dr, Lexington, KY
Hi there, I'm Nick! Hi, my name is Nick Riemenschneider, pronounced Ree-Men-Shn(eye)-Der. I am a fully licensed clinical professional counselor (LPCC) in Kentucky. I earned my Master’s in Professional Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands and have been doing this work since 2019. I believe every client is unique, and whatever issues they face are unique from their perspective. I often find myself teaching my clients self-love. Self-love is crucial, and my motto is: Know Self, Accept Self, Love Self. I might add that self-love and selfishness are two different attitudes. My approach My approach to mental health counseling is eclectic, meaning I utilize concepts and aspects of many different theories, applications, and modalities. I am Trauma-Informed, Level 1 Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) certified, Autism Specialist certified, DBT certified, Transpersonal Psychology minded, and soon to complete certification in Ericksonian Solution-Oriented Hypnosis. My focus My clients are typically individual adults seeking to reduce or eliminate symptoms commonly associated with trauma, including but not limited to anxiety and depression. These symptoms often appear in disorders such as PTSD, ASD, ADHD, Bipolar, Addictions, and Grief. My goal is to help individuals navigate these issues to achieve a better life experience. My communication style Creating a space where clients feel safe enough to share their experiences is my main focus. Feeling safe is something we all deserve. I have a broad range of life experience, and I believe that experience allows me to connect with my clients where they are in their life’s journey. I am a good listener—empathetic, validating, and empowering. I can be gentle and direct when needed. My journey to mental healthcare Since childhood, I have always been interested in human behavior. However, I grew up in an abusive home, and that altered my course for some time.
