“Nicole is so caring and compassionate; I’ve been seeing her for two years, and she’s been really helpful in getting me un-stuck following some traumatic events in my life. I’ve also always struggled with ADHD, and can honestly say that after working with her I’m so much better at recognizing (and coping with) those patterns. She is a great listener, but also gives me such useful feedback. I’m so glad I found her! ”

“My session with Nicole was just what I needed as I began my therapy journey. I've never done something like this before and she made the experience very welcoming and comfortable. I could tell she was listening to everything I said and was touching back on things in my follow up session. She was even honest enough to admit that she had a colleague who I would be better suited for. I thank her for her honest approach. I'd recommend her practice to anyone.”

Getting to know Nicole Dodich

I'm a NY, MA, and FL licensed psychotherapist with a Master's in Social Work from Columbia University, focusing on the treatment of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have specialized training working with clients of all ages in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. I will work with you weekly to assist you in linking past experiences to current problems in relationships and functioning. Together, we will identify adaptive coping solutions and a deeper understanding of the self so that you can improve your relationships and live with greater authenticity.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In my practice, I try to challenge clients while maintaining a warm and supportive atmosphere. My style blends humor, openness, and creativity with directness and honesty. I have experience working with clients from all walks of life, and I believe that no problem is too challenging or too insignificant to bring to therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I aim to help clients learn emotion regulation skills and achieve stability and trust in relationships. My training spans the following modalities: psychodynamic psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), & Trauma-Informed Yoga (RYT-200).

Nicole is a caring, remarkably talented therapist. A perfect storm of family and work crises had led me to financial, physical and emotional trauma. Other therapists had helped me keep my nose (mostly) just above water, but land was nowhere in sight. Then I found Nicole. She skillfully balanced patient, attentive listening with knowing just when to stop me and throw key questions and insight at me and imagine where I want to go to try to find "me". In many ways, Nicole's skill set and style are similar to how Miles Davis pushed others to find new places to explore - dark or glaring bright - perfect notes, sour notes or lost silence - yet somehow knew when was too far and pull them/us back, breathe and reset. Like any relationship, no therapist is perfect for everyone, but I trust Nicole. She has helped me most effectively. I have a good ways to go, but Miles changed the world time after time and Nicole is helping me change mine.
