Nicole Guttermuth, LPC

Psychotherapist
808 Powdersville Rd, Ste 11, Easley, SC
My name is Nicole Guttermuth. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and I'm working on earning a Clinical Trauma Professional Certification. I hold an MEd in Community Counseling from Clemson University. Born and raised on Miami Beach, I relocated to the South Carolina Upstate in 1998 and call Easley home. My area of expertise is working with various types of trauma, but I also work with older adolescents and adults who struggle with ADHD, depression, anxiety, and adjusting to new phases of life. My approach What I enjoy about therapy is that there isn't a "one size fits all" method for working with clients, so I employ a variety of treatment modalities tailored to the needs of each individual. I'm always client-centered and trauma-informed in my approach to therapy. Layered on these basic principles are CBT, psychoanalysis, solution-focused, supportive, and positive psychology. My focus I've spent the majority of my 17-year career working with survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, domestic violence victims; I work with many women who have difficulty letting go of the "not good enough" narrative that's played on repeat for too long. Trauma is a heavy burden to carry alone, so I try to help clients find healing by empowering them to see the strength that has enabled their survival and the courage required to seek help. My communication style Perfection doesn't exist, yet we spend so much time trying to achieve this fictitious ideal. In therapy sessions, I foster an environment where clients feel safe to be vulnerable and imperfect. I want clients to be unapologetically open in sharing their thoughts and feelings, knowing that they are accepted without conditions, judgment, or criticism. On a daily basis, I make a genuine effort to give others the kindness, compassion, and acceptance every person deserves.
