Korte, LMSW, holds a Master’s in Social Work from Walden University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from Hofstra University. She has spent her adult life studying theoretical concepts in mental health and continues to seek out opportunities to learn new approaches to healing. Nicole believes in the fundamental value of psychotherapy and appreciates the varied experiences and perspectives clients bring into the room. She views the client-therapist relationship as integral to successful therapy. Nicole uses a strengths-based, person-centered approach to treatment and has developed her skillset working with individuals struggling with mental illness, past and present traumas, eating disorders, and at various stages of recovery. Some of the therapeutic techniques Nicole uses in her practice involve cognitive reframing, mindfulness, meditation, guided imagery, journaling, poetry, and art therapy. She emphasizes the significance of self-care, self-compassion, forgiveness, and healing the inner child to promote emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth. Nicole is committed to creating a safe, empathic space for clients to be heard and supported as they continue a path toward self-discovery and healing.
