Getting to know Nicole Macias

As a veteran, mother, and wife, I understand firsthand that life can be difficult and that navigating its challenges requires courage, resilience, and strength. I believe that growth often comes from facing adversity, learning from our experiences, and finding the courage to move forward even when the path is uncertain. My own experiences have shaped my perspective and strengthened my commitment to helping others find meaning, purpose, and direction in their lives. I believe meaningful change requires more than simply talking about our struggles; it requires honesty, accountability, and a willingness to do the work. My approach to therapy is direct, compassionate, and challenging. I strive to create a supportive environment where you feel understood and respected, while also encouraging you to confront the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. I am not here to simply tell you what you want to hear or to make every difficult moment comfortable. I am here to walk alongside you, challenge you when necessary, and help you recognize your own capacity for growth and change. I have been forged through my own life experiences, and I draw on the perspective, resilience, and practical knowledge I have gained along the way to support my work with clients. While everyone's journey is unique, I believe we all have the capacity to develop greater self-awareness, overcome obstacles, and build a life that aligns with our values and purpose. My goal is to help you move beyond simply surviving life's challenges toward building a life that feels meaningful, intentional, and fulfilling. Real change is possible, and I believe it begins with courage, commitment, and a willingness to do the work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to know that you can show up as your authentic self. You do not have to have the right words, pretend to have it all together, or hide the parts of your story that feel messy, painful, or difficult to share. This is a space where you can be honest about your hardships, express your emotions, laugh, cry, and even cuss if that is what feels natural to you. We are real here, and I want you to feel comfortable enough to bring your whole self into the room. My approach is direct, honest, and compassionate. I will meet you with understanding and without judgment, but I will also challenge you when necessary. Therapy is not always comfortable, and growth often requires us to face things we would rather avoid. I will support you through the difficult moments while encouraging you to take accountability, recognize your patterns, and make meaningful changes in your life. You do not have to be perfect, and you do not have to navigate everything alone. My goal is to create a genuine, supportive relationship where you feel safe enough to be vulnerable, strong enough to face difficult truths, and empowered to do the work needed to move forward. You bring your honesty and willingness to show up; we will work together to help you find your strength, build resilience, and create a life that feels more meaningful and aligned with who you want to be. Above all, come as you are. We will start there.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with an initial session focused on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and gathering information about your background, experiences, and goals for treatment. This allows us to develop a clear understanding of what brings you to therapy and identify the patterns, challenges, and areas of growth we will focus on together. I take a direct, collaborative, and goal-oriented approach to treatment. I strive to create a supportive environment where you feel heard and understood, while also being challenged to examine unhelpful patterns, gain new perspectives, and take meaningful steps toward change. Throughout our work, we will identify practical strategies, build on your strengths, and regularly assess progress toward your goals. My aim is to help you develop greater self-awareness, strengthen your ability to navigate challenges, and create lasting, meaningful change in your life.
