Nicole Mylan-Englenton, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CT
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Connecticut and New York, with a Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College. I work with adolescents and adults facing depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I use a client-focused, strengths-based approach to treatment, recognizing that the client is the expert on themselves and sets the pace of therapy. My approach to therapy varies based on what works best for each individual. I let the client lead the treatment process and draw from several models depending on what is most appropriate. I work from a strengths-based perspective, using a combination of Emotion-Focused Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Through these approaches, I help clients understand how their thoughts and emotions impact their functioning and relationships, guiding them to move forward, improve their lives, and achieve their desired therapeutic outcomes. My style and approach work best with teens and adults of any gender identity. I focus on addressing depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I collaborate with clients to set their own treatment direction and support them in reaching their goals. My communication style is friendly, accepting, and patient. I actively listen and am open to discussing any topic openly and without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare began early, influenced by my mother’s work in social work and the inspiring therapists I knew growing up. It quickly became clear that being a therapist was my calling. I have always been the person friends and family turn to for support during difficult times, and I am committed to helping others work through their challenges.
