Getting to know Dr. Nicole Pison

I am here to partner with you as you examine your life and look for meaning, direction, and greater joy. I hold a PhD in Psychology from Capella University and a Bachelor's degree from Vassar College. My background is in family systems and cognitive behavioral therapy. I am most strongly aligned with Positive Psychology, which helps us build resilience to cope with life's challenges and improve relationships. I find it so rewarding to participate in the healing process and help others accomplish goals and gain mastery over their inner and outer worlds. I work with both individuals and couples. I would love to hear your story.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I focus therapy on addressing current situations. In response to your concerns and priorities, I can offer practical strategies and techniques for developing healthy thought patterns and adopting positive behaviors.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

It is helpful to have a clear goal for therapy. I want to find out what is most important to you. Once this is established, we can work toward accomplishing your goals, which may shift as new things come up. I do not believe people should have to be involved in therapy for years to achieve improvement. I will work with you to move toward healthier thinking, more mindful and intentional actions, and more genuine relationships in a relatively short period of time.
