Nicole Pyles, MSW

Psychotherapist
CA
I started my career teaching individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness the skills they needed to live independently. Over time, I discovered a new passion while working as an addiction counselor in substance use treatment. This path allowed me to explore various approaches, from intensive outpatient programs (IOP) to harm reduction strategies, and eventually to residential treatment for pregnant and postpartum women facing substance use challenges and homelessness. Witnessing the trauma so many people endured—and recognizing the limitations of what I could offer—I decided to go back to school and earn my Master of Social Work degree. My focus was on adult mental health and wellness, with a specialization in military social work. I also completed a graduate certificate in Social Work in Addiction. These experiences deepened my understanding and expanded my ability to support others. Throughout my career, one thing has remained constant: my passion for helping people heal and grow. As your therapist, I see myself as your partner in recovery and wellness. I’m not here to judge, criticize, or tell you what to do. My role is to meet you where you are, help you gain insight, brainstorm solutions, and create a plan of action tailored to your goals. Every person’s journey is unique, and so is the work we do together. For some, therapy may be about processing grief or loss; for others, it might mean navigating life changes, breaking old patterns, or healing from trauma. That’s why my first question will always be, “How would you like to spend your time today?” I approach therapy from a person-centered, non-judgmental perspective. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions because every individual deserves care that reflects their unique story. Whether you need support, strategies, or just a safe space to be heard, I’m here to help you on your journey to wellness and wholeness.
