Getting to know Nicole Smith-Perez
Mae Wellness provides a safe space for women to focus on their mental and emotional health-a space free of judgment where the only expectation is a desire to craft something different for yourself. Our therapists take an active, solution-focused approach that is highly goal-oriented and designed to hold you accountable. We believe it's important to expand beyond just exploring feelings and also talk about what's next and what's possible with improved tools and a different outlook.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Clients can expect to be met where they're at while being challenged to grow in a non-judgmental space . We place emphasis on identifying strengths and developing tools and skills that clients feel confidant using and know are effective.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
After scheduling a session, you can expect to receive intake documents to complete via email before your appointment. It is required that all forms be completed 48 hours after an appointment is booked or it will be canceled. Payment method on file is preferred.
During the initial session, we will discuss in depth what is bringing you to therapy as well as desired outcomes and expectations. If we both determine we're a good match, ongoing sessions will be scheduled on a weekly or bi-weekly basis depending on your needs and availability.

Nicole is a wonderful therapist and it's a pleasure to speak with her every appointment. She's very thoughtful and easy to talk to -- obviously that's part of the job as a therapist -- but for someone like me who was new to therapy she just put me at ease with a natural rapport that she cultivates. And I appreciate her approach to therapy as well, which is a focus on helping me achieve actual results and change. It's been a great experience so far.

Nicole is warm, empathetic, and a great listener. That alone is a winning combination in a therapist, but she also excels in coming up with small, measurable action items to impact my life in meaningful ways. In working with Nicole, I have been able to see myself in a more compassionate light, and have been able to separate myself emotionally from difficult situations I have little to no control over. Her kind and pragmatic approach allowed me to meet myself where I was, and always feel empowered to make the smallest of changes, whether in thought or action, even throughout various personal traumas. She has never made me feel judged or minimized, and I truly feel like she's in my corner. I could not recommend her highly enough.

I have been a client for approximately 3 years. Nicole is an amazing therapist. She is a great listener, empathetic, and she understands me and my life experiences very well. She is always punctual and responsive. The systems that she uses make it very easy to get join appointments, get reminders, as well as make payments. If you are looking for a therapist, Nicole is my recommendation.
