Getting to know Nicole Thompson Cartwright

Hello, I'm Niki. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Are you struggling yourself, or maybe your child is concerning you? Let's talk, and we can work together to find solutions. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Marshall University, and I help others find patterns in their lives that keep them stuck and discover ways to become unstuck. We'll identify what is working and build on your strengths. We'll also explore what isn’t working and develop a plan that’s right for you. I’ll teach you ways to calm your body and brain, slow down thoughts to bring clarity, and develop better ways to act or respond to the stresses around you. For children, I incorporate play therapy techniques to help them gain and practice skills.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our sessions would be tailored to your individual needs, and we will work together to find what will work for you. While I have a lot of experience and knowledge, I find that building a therapeutic relationship with the right therapist is half the battle. My career has been focused on providing an array of services to children and their families in their homes, schools, and communities, including FBS, BHRS/IBHS, and outpatient services. In my 24+ years of experience, I have worked effectively with depression, anxiety, ADHD, ODD, autism, and a wide array of other issues of concern.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
