Nicole (pronouns: she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, dedicated to providing a safe and non-judgmental space for all people, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, ability status, or any other identity they possess. Aligned with social work values, Nicole believes every human-being is born with inherent dignity and worth, and the capacity to make meaningful change. First and foremost, Nicole takes a person-centered and solution focused, strengths based approach. She primarily incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), while working with the client to find what is best for them. Nicole’s background includes work with: behavioral issues, mood disorders, anxiety, behavioral issues, body image, identity exploration and self-acceptance, school-related issues, family work, and crisis management. She primarily works with adolescents, and more specifically, LGBTQ+ adolescents. Nicole enjoys working with Queer and Trans* youth and their families, providing a space to safely explore their identity, navigate the world, and simply be. As part of her therapeutic approach, she believes in incorporating support from all areas of someone’s world, including family, other outpatient provides, peer support, and school. “Therapy can be intimidating sometimes and I admire anyone who has taken steps toward bettering themself and their life. I believe it is important recognize a person as the expert in their journey; It is a humbling experience to witness someone face the challenges that are before them and come out the other side. I believe if you give someone the space to be their authentic self, the tools they need, and unconditional support, the possibilities are boundless. In the walls of therapy, at the very least, nothing can take away a person’s worth or their right to kindness and compassion.”
