Psychotherapist
NY
*This provider does not accept any Medicaid or Medicare plans* I work with adults and young professionals navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can feel safe to explore what’s holding you back and discover new ways forward. Together, we’ll build clarity, confidence, and practical tools for change. I believe therapy can be a life-changing process that helps you reconnect with your strengths and move through life with more intention and ease. I bring a judgement free zone into my therapeutic sessions. I work to make sure the therapeutic relationship is seamless and the client feels comfortable to open up with all types of emotions and thoughts. Therapy is an individual decision. In order for therapy to work you need to make the decision to not only be present but participate. We will unpack a lot of emotions together and I look forward working with you to navigate them all, whether big or small through conversation and some humor. Nicoletta Sklavounakis has a Master’s degree from Ball State University and Fordham University. Nicoletta Sklavounakis is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), #111336 (NY). Supervised by Joshua Sanchez, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), #099124.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have worked with a variety of age groups. I have extensive experience working with school aged children and teens navigating middle school and high school, parent support, and family therapy (individually and combined). I also have experience working with new moms and the new life expectations that come with caring for an infant. My work within various cultures has given me a great understanding of diversity. My clinical style is collaborative and individualized for each client's needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I became a clinician to support those that need someone to listen with a voice to answer back and support their thought process and life navigation. It can be difficult opening up to another person, and having the ability to provide a safe positive space to encourage others motivates me. I am thoughtful and kind. I will encourage you through mindfulness, humor, and realism to help you work through the changes you desire and difficulties you encounter. We will work together to achieve the goals we set out to achieve.
