Nima was an incredible listener and therapist. I found support and guidance as well as having the ability of strengthening my own relationship with my mental health.
From the start Nima made me feel comfortable and ultimately in control of where we go and what we explore. As someone who was hesitant to begin therapy, I cannot imagine having been paired with a better therapist who understands where I am coming from and offers practices, tools and insights that have never occurred to me before. The work we have done in the few short months thus far have been instrumental to my overall mental wellbeing and quality of life (family, dating, career, health and friendships).

More about Nima Zahedi, LCSW

My name is Nima Robert Zahedi. I was born in Oklahoma City in 1969. In 1996, I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University Fullerton. In 2002, I received my master’s degree in social work from California State University Long Beach. In 2017, I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from California Southern University where I graduated summa cum laude. My doctoral project was a theoretical analysis prompting psychology to do exactly what we ask our patients to do- compassionate introspection. It is titled Weltanschauung: Leadership Defines Culture. Weltanschauung translates to World-View, and leadership defines culture can be captured by the same dynamic where caregivers define a child’s inner and outer worlds; leadership-culture defines world culture on a worldwide scale. My research was guided by a no-schisms pragmatism and provided an exploration of the problems associated with the excessive and unnecessary ambiguity of psychology and human culture- the inner and outer worlds. My inquiry revolved around psychology and counseling-related students, clinical training, and theory unification. I understand the world pragmatically, which means little to no psycho-babble. I have pain in my life too, but I live well with the pain, which means pain does not run my life- I make good decisions despite the pain. I am good enough- not perfect. Also, I am not going to tell you that I provide a non-judgmental atmosphere. In fact, I will be judging your judgment; doing so is part of a standard clinical note, and anyone who tells you otherwise is mistaken. You are supposed to use your judgment, and so am I. What we do not want to do is be pre-judgmental- that is synonymous with being prejudice. The work we do will often not be easy, although sometimes it is fun and playful, but it will be important.
