Getting to know Nizammah Ward

Do you find it difficult to ask for help? Asking for assistance doesn't equate to weakness; it's actually a strength! As an African American/Caribbean counselor, I am able to serve my community through relatable shared experiences. I pride myself on encouraging my clients to see and be the light that is already within them. I use an integrative approach, recognizing that each individual is unique and processes thoughts differently. Mindfulness-based CBT allows clients to find peace within themselves through grounding. This heightened self-awareness enables us to live in accordance with our values, even in the face of opposition. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida. It is required for all clients to complete intake paperwork and place a card on file prior to the initial appointment. Appointments will be canceled if these are not completed the day before your session.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In addition, motivational interviewing is used to ensure the counselor-client relationship is based on the elements the client would like to address. I have 10 plus years of experience working with adults and families with various challenges including; mood disorders, grief, family issues, self-esteem, stress management, personal growth, etc. I provide an environment of acceptance where trust and respect are cultivated and judgments are non-existent. Join me in this voyage and take the first steps into exploring your greatness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

It is required for all clients to complete intake paperwork and place a card on file prior to the initial appointment. Appointments will be canceled if not completed the day before your session.
