What should a new client know about working with you?

A new client should know that my approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to their individual needs. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where clients can speak openly, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. During our sessions, we will work together to identify concerns, explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships, and develop practical coping strategies. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and may also incorporate Motivational Interviewing, solution-focused interventions, cognitive reframing, and strengths-based techniques. Clients can expect me to be supportive and engaged while also helping them examine unhelpful patterns and build new skills. Therapy is a shared process, and treatment goals and strategies will be developed collaboratively based on each client’s experiences, strengths, cultural background, and personal priorities.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with learning about each client’s concerns, background, strengths, and goals for therapy. During the first few sessions, we will discuss what brings them to treatment, how current challenges are affecting their daily life, and what they hope to achieve. Together, we will develop a treatment plan that reflects their needs and priorities. A typical session may include checking in on recent experiences, exploring thoughts, emotions, behaviors, or relationship patterns, and identifying areas where change may be helpful. I use evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, solution-focused interventions, cognitive reframing, and strengths-based strategies. Depending on the client’s goals, sessions may also include practicing coping skills, problem-solving, setting manageable goals, or reviewing progress between visits. I regularly invite feedback and adjust the approach as needed so that therapy remains collaborative, practical, and responsive to the client’s growth.
