Hello, I'm Norm. In 1989, I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a master's degree in Counseling Psychology. Over the past three decades, I've had the privilege of working in a wide variety of settings, including community mental health centers, medical clinics, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and multiple group homes for troubled children and adolescents. I've also served as the Counseling Director/Disability Services Director at a community college and a professor of psychology at a university. Additionally, I've run my own private practice and worked extensively with addictions. My goal in working across these diverse environments has always been to become as well-versed as possible as a generalist clinician. In other words, in over three decades of practice, I've seen it all! My extensive experience allows me to help clients with a wide range of issues, including antisocial behavior, anxiety, autism spectrum support, borderline personality disorder, depression, developmental disabilities, eating disorders, family relationships, grief and bereavement, intimate and romantic relationships, learning disorders, life transitions, military and veteran support, narcissistic personality disorder, OCD, perinatal support, psychosis and schizophrenia, PTSD, sex and intimacy issues, stress, suicidal ideation and self-harming, trauma, and traumatic brain injury. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our sessions. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. My approach is collaborative, and I tailor my techniques to fit your unique needs and goals.
