Did you grow up in an environment where it was unacceptable to show emotion? Is it hard for you to create meaningful relationships because you’re too closed off? Are you scared to be viewed as ‘crazy’, ‘too emotional’ or ‘sensitive’? Do you struggle to find words for the thoughts and feelings you’re having? Would you like to understand yourself better but are not sure of the best way to do that? Do you want to heal but are unclear about what that looks like and entails? As a Muslim and South Asian American, I have witnessed how often mental health issues are overlooked in the community. The stigma surrounding mental health throughout cultures worldwide has left many individuals with their needs unmet. For this reason, I have dedicated my focus to understanding the intersectionality of mental health, religion, and culture. This has allowed me to support those going through depression, anxiety, marital conflict, trauma, work-related stress, and family issues. My intention is to create a safe, non-judgmental, warm environment in which you are the expert on your own experience. I provide a space that will allow for the most successful outcome in your healing. It is my goal to have you leaving sessions with practical tools and steps to help you achieve your goals. Change is hard but together we can work towards ensuring you feel like your best self and are living the life you want to live. Scroll down for my qualifications, specialties, and client focus!
