Nyra Serrant (she/her) has experience working with clients ages 10-60 from a multitude of backgrounds. Nyra has clinical expertise in transitional phases, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, ADHD, multicultural and intersectional identities, and boundary setting/ maintenance. Nyra is especially drawn to clients seeking out therapy for the first time, seeking skills to handle adversity and building relationships that encourage acceptance, growth, and change. Nyra was born and raised in the Commonwealth of Dominica and earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Binghamton University. She completed her Master's in Social Work at Hunter College and has been working in university and private practice settings since gaining her license. Nyra uses an eclectic approach, using evidence-based tools such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Strengths-Based Approach. Nyra's goal as your clinician will be to create and maintain a client-centered, safe space where you will be free to speak about your unique experiences, explore, and work through the challenges of life.
