I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in New Orleans, Louisiana, and work with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a MEd in Community Counseling from The University of New Orleans. I work with adults of all ages and specialize in anxiety, stress, and mood disorders, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to support my clients in addressing their concerns and goals for treatment. My approach My approach varies based on the needs of the clients that I support. I believe that building therapeutic rapport is the foundation of any counseling relationship. I most often use the framework of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy since both of these models assist me along with the client to understand and manage emotional distress. I believe that clients are experts on themselves and just need the space to figure out what is getting in the way of them being their best selves. My focus Most clients I see come in with depression, anxiety, or relationship issues. I have experience with people from all different backgrounds with varied issues when they come to therapy. I believe that having a safe space to process emotions and thoughts is one of the most important supports that I can offer someone seeking therapy. My communication style I have found that my style and approach have been a good fit for clients who need a casual, yet somewhat structured approach. My communication style is warm and inviting while also allowing the client to identify what goals are priorities for them. I believe in creating space for realistic, measurable, and specific goals so that therapy is manageable and clients can clearly observe their wins and successes.
