Hi, my name is Ofori Asante, and I am a licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. After earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, I worked as a mental health technician in a behavioral hospital and a refugee resettlement agency. I earned my master's degree in Counseling and Sociology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. I have been a licensed professional counselor for the past 17 years, with clinical experience working with college students, children, adolescents, and families. I am a nationally certified counselor and a member of the Texas Counseling Association (TCA). I have extensive experience working with individuals suffering from chronic mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety. Additionally, I have a wealth of experience supporting those struggling with self-esteem, phobias, self-worth, poor relationships, and grief. I was honored as the Truax Scholarship recipient in 2005 and recognized as the outstanding master's level student in the Department of Counseling at Texas A&M University-Commerce in both 2003 and 2005. Since 2010, I have served as a counselor supervisor for the state of Texas, providing training for licensed professional counselors. Married with two beautiful children, I am also actively involved in my church as one of the associate ministers. I provide marital counseling and am available to clients seeking biblical counseling. I completed my doctoral education at Texas A&M University-Commerce, focusing on marital satisfaction among Filipino Americans and European Americans in intercultural marriages. Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge.
