Getting to know Olivia DeLeon-Yi
I support clients who are seeking a welcoming and affirming environment where they can confidently learn to navigate the growing complexities of everyday life. My clients come to me feeling anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed and are eager to create change for themselves. Together, we work collaboratively to understand how past experiences, relationships, and unresolved emotions have impacted their social-emotional functioning and ability to live a more fulfilling life. I offer my clients the space to be heard, tools necessary to cope with challenges, and strategies to establish meaningful relationships. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate and effective support.

What should a new client know about working with you?
My therapeutic approach embraces compassion, empathy, and a sense of humor. I’m dedicated to providing my clients with a sense of safety, empowerment, and understanding as we work together in addressing individual needs. I strive to understand the various intersecting systems that inherently impact my clients and their care through a culturally-attuned lens. I am also Level 1 trained in the Gottman Method, and use it in my approach when working with couples.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Reaching out to a therapist can be overwhelming, but finding someone you feel safe with can make all the difference. Creating relationships is my passion and I believe the relationship between us is going to be the most impactful tool we have.
