I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker who received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa. I counsel individuals on adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, navigating neurodivergence, trauma, and various mental health concerns.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My practice is based on the belief that everyone should have access to a trained counselor who greets them with unconditional positive regard and creates a nonjudgmental space to collaborate. I aim to empower you to grow while working toward your goals and build upon the resilience and strengths you have already cultivated throughout your life. In our collaboration, I see you as the expert on your life, whereas I bring knowledge of evidence-based tools that provide you with techniques to enhance insight, self-awareness, and coping strategies concerning your therapeutic goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I typically try to collaborate with the client and get an idea of what brings them to therapy and what they hope to get out of the experience. I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches and explain each one to the client and attempt to tailor their therapy based on what they believe will work for them. I pull from acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and internal family systems most often. I also use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
