Getting to know Olly Sladek

Hi, I'm Olly (they/them) — a nonbinary therapist who works with kids, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, gender dysphoria, self-esteem struggles, and the everyday weight of peer and family conflict. My approach centers on Narrative Therapy and person-centered care. I believe you're the expert on your own life and the author of your own story, especially the parts that other people have tried to write for you. I also draw on Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy when it fits what you need in the moment. I spent two years doing school-based therapy with kids and teens, holding anxiety, grief, and self-esteem issues with care and compassion, and teaching coping skills for navigating these issues in an affirming and supported way. I also run psychoeducational groups on anxiety and executive functioning, and when it's helpful, I work with parents to strengthen communication and support at home. I would be honored to start our work by building trust, and then working on resilience, tools that research shows will help you feel better, and reauthoring the stories you've been handed about who you are.
