Getting to know Opal Goodwin

Life can be difficult at times. I specialize in helping clients who are facing the challenges of anxiety, depression, school issues, relationships, self-esteem, trauma, and life transitions. My practice is neurodivergent affirming. With a deep appreciation for the unique strengths and challenges of each individual, I provide a supportive and empowering environment where clients can explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and cultivate resilience. Through a combination of therapeutic modalities, I am dedicated to facilitating growth and healing with each individual. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Alabama and am a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist as well as a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider (CTMH). I am licensed in Louisiana, Kentucky, and Alabama and provide telehealth services only.

With a compassionate and individualized approach, I collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique experiences and needs. Using evidence-based interventions and a strengths-based perspective, I empower clients to navigate life's complexities with resilience and confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I combine evidence-based practices with a personalized approach to help clients achieve their goals. During initial sessions, we will address the issues at hand and collaborate to create a treament plan for addressing the issues and work toward goals.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
