Getting to know Oswaldo Castro

Hi. Welcome to my page. I am Oswaldo Castro but prefer to be called Oz. I am a licensed mental health therapist with a plethora of experience. I first started my journey working in neurofeedback, which allowed me to work with a diverse population-from children to seniors-with issues such as ADHD, autism, sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, depressed mood, and many other neurodivergent conditions for about 7 years. My journey continued at a drug rehab facility, where I worked with individuals with substance use disorder for about 5 years. My life then led me to work at a survivor's center, where I supported victims of domestic violence, violent crimes, and grief for about 2 years. I also gained experience with the LGBTQIA+ population, working closely and running groups with individuals of the trans experience. Moving forward, I have worked with suicidal children and adolescents who have been under a Baker Act, which has given me experience with family systems for about 4 years. I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Albizu University in Miami, which has further equipped me to provide compassionate and effective care. If you like what you've read so far, reach out to me and schedule a session. I hope to hear from you so we can start working on those goals you may have for yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Depending on your experience on therapy will determine where I will start. I am very psychoeducational for the newbies to therapy which will allow them to understand their emotions but for individuals with experience can also receive a deeper experience.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Oswaldo is an amazing therapist, he's helping me to understand what's causing problems, giving me realistic examples of the problems, and how to address them. He does this all with compassion, empathy, and humor all at the same time. I would highly recommend him as a therapist to anyone I know.
He is very attentive and straight forward. Will listen and have great insights into how to deal/adjust to situations. Gives great ideas on how to keep working in between sessions. Making it easier to keep progressing as a person
I love Oz. He’s a real person with real issues just like everyone else. He doesn’t act like he’s superior, he’s down to earth. I chose Oz purely from reading his own bio and I was not disappointed.
He is the first therapist out of many that my high functioning autistic son does not beg me to let him miss. He actually looks forward to his meetings and it feels like Oz is the only person he will talk to thus far.
Safe space, empowering, kind and warm.
Oz has a very warm presence that makes me feel at ease. Talking with him is very easy and he has helped me learn a lot about myself
