Padma Salisbury, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Padma! My name is Padma Salisbury, and I have been licensed as an MFT since 2007. I earned my Master?s in Clinical Health Psychology from Antioch University ? Los Angeles. I am excited to start the journey of working with you and helping you tap into the strengths you already have to reach your potential and meet goals that you may have to enhance your life. My approach I like to use different orientations depending on what we are focusing on. I want to meet you where you are at and want you to be comfortable so I can help you grow, work through areas of your life where you may feel "blocked," and help you find the tools to break through barriers that are keeping you in a place of despair or stagnancy. Every person is unique and different, and as such, I want to make sure I use the best therapeutic process to help you feel safe and open while we are working together. My focus As the mother of a son with special needs, I am passionate about helping other parents who are navigating this often difficult path. I also have a lot of experience working with people who are struggling with depression and anxiety, as well as working through trauma that may be hindering the relief of these symptoms. My communication style My goal is for every client to feel safe and that they can be open about who they are. I am genuine, and I am also curious about who you are, what has brought you to therapy, and what your goals are as we work together. My journey to mental healthcare I have always liked helping others. I had a difficult childhood that caused me to become a very anxious adult and struggled with depression for many years. Becoming a therapist helped me discover the internal work I needed to do in order to have a handle on the depression and anxiety that have played a role in my life. Most recently, when my son was diagnosed with autism, I realized that parents in the same boat as me need support and empathy to be the best advocates for their child.
