Psychotherapist
OR
Hi there, I'm Pamela ! You have already taken an important step to recognize that your life could be healthier. The next step is to find a therapist to help guide you along this journey. I specialize in working with adults who are experiencing chronic or serious illness, those navigating life transitions, or experiencing anxiety and depression. I am here when you are ready to begin the work. My approach I meet every new client with curiosity and openness. I believe all clients have their own unique strengths and the ability to grow and change. My practice is informed by many types of psychotherapy, including Acceptance and Commitment, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness, and Strength-Based therapies. Together, we will find an approach that works best for you. My focus I have years of experience helping adults cope with the physical, emotional, and social challenges of long-term health conditions and significant life transitions. I offer a safe space to discuss and process feelings such as anxiety, fear, depression, coping with side effects, adjusting to changes in ability, death anxiety, changes in body image, grief, and tolerating uncertainty. I also understand and support the caregiver experience, whether formal or informal. My communication style My communication style is open, honest, calm, and compassionate. I use reflective listening techniques to clarify and improve our understanding of experiences, feelings, and possible solutions. When we are working through the hard stuff, I will guide you with curiosity, patience, and without judgment. Often using humor to ease tension and facilitate healing. My journey to mental healthcare I realized pretty early in life that I am someone that people go to when they need a compassionate, listening ear. This led me to seek out the necessary education, skills, and mentorship to become a therapist.
