Getting to know Pamela Cardella
I have had the privilege to work in multiple clinical settings before moving into private practice. I felt that this was much like mental health bootcamp, and I found it highly beneficial. Through these experiences, I was able to determine the areas of mental health that I am best suited to. In my practice, I focus on Complex Post Traumatic Stress resulting from various abusive experiences such as narcissistic, sexual, emotional, mental, and physical abuse. I also work with co-occurring disorders such as addiction, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression. I work with individuals, couples, teens, and families.
I hold a Master’s in Professional Counseling from the University of Louisiana Monroe. My approach is always based in compassion, research-based methods (CBT, DBT, EMDR), with a good dose of honesty. I like to use an integrative approach specifically structured for each individual. I combine various theories and techniques, but most importantly, my approach is non-judgmental, accepting, and positive.
I believe a productive relationship between counselor and client must include open and honest communication. To create an environment for that type of communication, I provide my clients a safe place to express their thoughts and feelings without judgment. I believe in listening intently so that I may help my clients find clarity and healing.
