Hi there, I'm Pamela! Hello, my name is Pamela Codes. I am a licensed professional counselor and certified addiction counselor. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. I have a person-centered approach to therapy and believe in building trust and safety in the therapeutic alliance. My focus is on mental health, trauma, depression, and addictions. I have also served people who identify as LGBTQ and those struggling with cultural identity. My approach I have been trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma and recovery, and practice somatic therapy approaches. My focus I have worked with clients who have substance use disorders, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and borderline personality disorder. I have also worked with transgender individuals and those struggling with cultural identity. My communication style I strive to create an environment of safety where clients feel safe to share and explore distressing issues. I ensure all sessions are professional and ethical, focusing on building a therapeutic connection. My journey to mental healthcare I was driven to this work by a positive experience with a personal therapist during a difficult time. The support and kindness I received inspired me to offer the same to others. I also saw a need for compassionate, dedicated counselors in mental health and addictions. My goals for you I believe the client is the expert in their own life. I approach goal setting as a collaborative, ongoing process. My first session with you In the first session, I invite clients to set their intentions for therapy and share expectations. I will explain how I support progress toward goals. I want to get to know you, and for you to get to know me as we move through the process.
