Pamela Dobbie, LPC, LMHC

Pamela Dobbie, LPC, LMHC

Psychotherapist
SC
My name is Pam Dobbie. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Florida and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New Mexico. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Southwestern College. I am also a Functional Diagnostic and Nutrition Practitioner. Although I am trained in numerous modalities, I lean toward CBT, Somatic Therapy, EMDR, and Brainspotting, with an emphasis on trauma-informed therapy. My focus I help clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, overwhelm, career dissatisfaction, chronic fatigue, and mold exposure. Together, we work to overcome obstacles, gain clarity, increase self-confidence, boost energy and resilience, and achieve more vibrant health so you can better handle life’s challenges and live with greater ease, fulfillment, and joy. My journey to therapy I became a therapist to help people and give back. Initially, I began in Substance Abuse treatment and then moved into chronic pain and trauma work, which led me to explore amazing modalities. I have also had my own journey with depression, anxiety, grief, loss, and trauma. My goals for you When we set goals, I like to collaborate with my clients to understand what motivates them, what undermines or disempowers them, what empowers them, and what has worked or not worked in the past.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I do my best to provide an open, warm, non judgmental space. One where you can come as you are. I'll meet you where you are. I am without agenda but not without a plan or focus to help you with your challenges. I do give homework as experiments to see how it feels to try on a particular action or tool. My approach: I meet my client where they are and begin from there. I use CBT, Gestalt, Attachment Focused, as well as Somatic Therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, Functional Mental Health, and Functional Medicine Diagnostics.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My first session with you It is the intake session in which I begin to learn about you and what it has been like to live your life, and what is bringing you to therapy now. I will go over modalities I feel are helpful, and we will clarify your goals for therapy.
