Beginning to work with a therapist can be a bit scary. I understand that and will never push you to go further than you can handle. I commit to always showing respect for the work you are doing. Give yourself some kudos for being here! Our work together is about you. I will create a plan centered on your needs and strengths, working to build a space where your voice is heard and focusing on your goals. If you aren't sure what you need, that's okay too-we'll figure things out together. My approach is warm, caring, and genuine, but I won't give you pat answers or advice-you've probably already heard them anyway! Instead, we will collaborate, looking at what you want to change and providing support as we work on making those changes happen. We will work together as you face the challenges that brought you here. I love working with children and their families, especially children ages 5-10. I also specialize in supporting people who struggle with depression, overwhelming stress, family issues, navigating health concerns, and those healing from a history of abuse and trauma, including grief and loss. I have a vast background in child mental health and enjoy partnering with parents who want to become even better caregivers. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Nursing. In my nursing career, I worked primarily in Oncology and Hospice, where I learned to walk side by side with families during some of their most difficult moments. From that experience, I realized I wanted to pursue a Social Work degree to focus more on the emotional needs of families and individuals. I obtained my Master's in Social Work from Wayne State University and have loved my work with children and families throughout the years.
