"Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation."—bell hooks. Mrs. Miller is a national and international expert on child abuse/neglect, childhood trauma, family violence, and severe stress. Her paper on severe child abuse as torture has been downloaded in 83 countries on all 6 continents. She speaks to international audiences on how to treat complex trauma and developmental trauma in young people using innovative techniques. These include play-based treatment (CCPT, ABPT, Theraplay), sensory and experiential treatment (water, sand, nature), expressive treatments like art, music, animal, and yoga therapy, client-centered treatment, and most importantly relationship-based treatment, where healing occurs in the context of a safe, healthy relationship to another person, including the therapist. She has treated children, teen girls, and women who have been exposed to trauma or severe stress. Mrs. Miller also provides support for girls and women during pregnancy and post-partum, and has supported families adopting a child, and placing a child for adoption. She is passionate about girls’ and women’s issues. Mrs. Miller is available for telehealth sessions primarily Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., and some weekends. In-person sessions are scheduled during weekdays.
