My name is Pam Slater, and my journey into the counseling field began when I was a high school English teacher, working with young adults who were three years younger than myself. As a result, the students quickly found trust in me and opened up about their personal issues. After completing my B.A. in English Education at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, I returned to school to earn my Master's Degree in Counseling at Texas A&M University. My counseling experience is broad and includes working with trauma survivors, Veterans, and individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, mania, addictions, family and marital issues, adolescent and child therapy, behavior modification, CBT, and DBT. Many clients report benefiting from our sessions due to my genuine approach, unconditional positive regard, rapport building, active listening skills, and my ability to help clients navigate difficult issues in a safe and trusting environment. *A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for cancellation of appointments, or a cancellation fee will be charged.*
