Getting to know Paola Von Oelffen

I am a trauma focused clinician licensed in both Washington state and South Carolina. I like to work with individuals and couples and I have worked with addiction, borderline personality disorder, trauma and unhealthy relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe trauma can impact our ability to enjoy our lives, create meaningful relationships and align our goals to our values. I welcome all your emotions and everything that comes with it. My role is to partner with you and help you reflect on your values and support you in achieving your goals. I primarily use EMDR to reprocess trauma, however I tend to use tools from a variety of therapies, including DBT, strength based and person centered counseling to develop our way forward. We will figure out what works best for you together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer a free consultation to give you a chance to meet me and discuss your preferences, what has or hasn't worked in the past, and what you would like to achieve. I am here to listen, without judgement, and support you no matter where you start.
