“Parwin is an amazing therapist! I struggled finding the right therapist for myself and had a few difficult encounters with therapists who viewed me as an appointment instead of a patient. Parwin is so different, she makes me feel heard, provides valuable advice and so supportive and kind. She is the therapist I have been looking forever for.”

Getting to know Parwin Wasimi

My name is Parwin Wasimi, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in San Diego, California. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from San Diego State University. In addition to providing Telehealth services, I work with adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and individuals diagnosed with Schizophrenia in an Intensive Outpatient Program. I am passionate about helping clients develop the skills and resources they need to live more fulfilling lives using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My approach I integrate different methods and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, where clients can expect to spend time discussing how challenging situations, emotions, and behaviors affect their lives. Together, we build a therapeutic alliance to promote emotional wellness through encouragement and support. My focus While I have extensive experience working with older adults, I currently work with adults of all ages who may be facing unforeseen changes, life stressors, and mental health diagnoses. I help clients examine their situations and their roles in them, process their emotions, and pursue new ways of thinking and acting that can lead to more positive outcomes. My communication style My communication style is compassionate, patient, an active listener, and nonjudgmental. I am dedicated to reassuring patients in difficult situations and creating space for open communication while building a strong therapeutic connection. My journey to mental healthcare I came to the United States as a refugee at the age of five. I personally learned to adapt to a lifestyle I never knew as a child. Social workers provided my family and me with assistance during our transition to a new country, inspiring me to follow the same path. As I advanced in my career, I recognized the vital need for accessible mental health services that individuals can truly benefit from.
