Getting to know Patrice King

I have over two decades of experience in the social work field. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Adelphi University. In my practice, I use a person-centered approach to care by providing a safe space for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. I work to help my clients take steps toward self-discovery in a supportive way while working through life’s challenges.

What should a new client know about working with you?

While working with me, one should know that I actively listen to my clients to learn who they are as human beings while assessing their needs. Respect and empathy guide my practice and interactions. I utilize different treatment modalities because every client is different, and flexibility is essential. Our time together is a chance for you to come as you are and work on things that will help you reach the goals you set out to achieve. I take pride in building therapeutic relationships where the client's voice is most important. Some of the different modalities that I use include Cognitive Behavioral, Person-Centered, and Solution-Focused therapies. Using a trauma-informed approach and providing culturally humble care is essential to building and sustaining therapeutic relationships.
