I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Kentucky. I bring more than 10 years of combined experience in rehabilitation, counseling, and helping individuals overcome personal and professional challenges. My approach is compassionate, engaging, trauma-informed, and solution-oriented. I strive to create a safe, respectful environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to recognize their strengths, develop healthier coping skills, and make meaningful changes. As a licensed therapist, author, and survivor of sexual exploitation, I bring both personal experience and professional expertise to help others heal from the trauma of power abuse. My book, Cancel Your Imprisonment (On Amazon), sheds light on overcoming betrayal & reclaiming personal strength.
I help individuals heal from trauma, relationship challenges, and emotional wounds caused by betrayal, abuse of power, and trust issues. My approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to reframe negative thoughts, Reality Therapy to focus on present choices, Trauma-Focused Therapy to release past wounds, and Solution-Focused Therapy to create practical steps for progress.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I tailor therapy to each client's unique needs and goals. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns. I incorporate trauma-informed approaches to safely process painful experiences and promote healing. Solution-Focused Therapy helps clients build on their strengths, set achievable goals, and create meaningful change.

I feel safe and unjudged with Patricia as my therapist. She listens attentively and I have developed a rapport over time. After all I am revealing and exposing my secrets and fears. I am comfortable and trust sharing my stories and traumas with Patricia. Her suggested tools and interpretations have been essential in refocusing some of my reasoning in a encouraging and fortified manner. Visiting with Mrs. Arp has been a good experience. I have visited 3 other therapist in the past and Mrs. Arp seems to be the best out of all of them. It doesn't seem she leans in any direction, but listens to both parties to try and see all perspectives in order to help and come up with solutions. From the very beginning, Patricia has made me feel heard, understood, and completely safe to be myself without judgment. She has helped me work through things that felt overwhelming and impossible at times, and she has given me the tools and perspective I needed to start finding myself again.

My visits with Mrs. Arps is Always a pleasure, it's professional, very thought provoking and always gives ways on how to view situations. I would recommend her if anyone was in need of therapy, I would say everybody. She is always a blessing, tells the truth even if you are not in agreement and is very patient. Patricia has truly been one of God’s greatest blessings throughout my healing journey.
She has created a space where I don’t have to be the therapist or helper, but I can simply be Carrie.
She beautifully combines professional therapeutic care with Christian compassion, wisdom, authenticity, and faith. She has also walked through parts of the journey that she is now helping me navigate.
Patricia has helped me confront places within myself that I needed to understand and heal. She has challenged me and encouraged me when I needed it. She provided a safe space for me to work through difficult emotions without judgment.
