Psychotherapist
10985 Cody St, Overland Park, KS
I’m Patricia Carter, M.A., LCPC, LIMHP, a licensed professional counselor with more than 30 years of experience in behavioral health and counseling. I work primarily with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, depression, life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of life. My approach is compassionate, practical, and grounded in evidence-based therapy. I believe therapy is most helpful when you feel understood and supported while also gaining practical tools you can use in everyday life. Together, we look at the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop healthier ways of responding to stress, emotions, relationships, and life challenges. I have training in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples therapy. I also integrate my background in neuroscience and nervous-system regulation into my work when appropriate. In addition to counseling, I provide in-person neurofeedback services, including LENS, Infra-Low Frequency, and traditional neurofeedback. Neurofeedback may be incorporated as an additional approach for individuals seeking support with nervous-system regulation and overall well-being.
