Patricia Grady, LICSW

Psychotherapist
WV
I specialize in working with individuals and families navigating life transitions, depression, trauma, abuse, and grief. I take a strength-based approach to guide your therapy process to meet your personal goals and assist in reaching your greatest potential. I’m here to provide a safe, confidential, and supportive environment to foster healing. My approach I have been formally trained in trauma-focused CBT and completed a specialization to work with children and their families experiencing childhood sexual abuse. I hold credentials as a Play Therapist through the International Association for Play Therapy. I am also trained in geriatrics and adapting to chronic illness. I believe that therapy is a shared Journey, and my hope is that together we can find the healing and strength that is within you. My focus I am here to support individuals and families who are experiencing symptoms related to trauma and grief, and life changes. You are not alone. Depression, anxiety, sleep changes, and anger are common symptoms experienced at times of change and stress. I would be honored to help you identify past positive coping strategies, add new tools to assist in your life journey, and listen and guide you on your therapy journey. My communication style I am a calm and active listener, hoping to create an open environment to encourage sharing, safety, and mutual respect. My journey to mental healthcare I have been a therapist and social worker for over 30 years. I love my work and so enjoy watching clients grow and change, and as one person described it: Get my happy back. I have seen clients graduate, achieve life milestones, and heal. I wanted to scale back my practice and enjoy gifts freely given to me: family, friends, relationships. Rula was a wonderful option to meet that goal. My goals for you My belief is that therapy is an evolving partnership. Together, we’ll identify and set goals that are important to you. I hope that, working together, new insights will emerge.
