Getting to know Patricia Kelleher

Hi there, I'm Patricia! I have worked in the behavioral health profession for 28 years, 10 of which I served First American populations in Maine. I provide counseling services for mental health and substance abuse treatment, inclusive of LGBTQ+. My purpose is to help people navigate the waters of their lives. I am honored to be a part of that journey. My approach I work mainly from a Cognitive Behavioral perspective with a foundation of a humanistic approach. I am also trained in Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care. I have experienced working with severe and persistent mental health issues as well as life experiences that affect us all. My focus I work with individuals to support them in reducing negative behaviors and thought processes that impede their mental health and sense of well-being. Improving self-esteem and a sense of worth is foundational in my approach. My communication style I am friendly and outgoing, and I am good at helping clients feel comfortable talking about what they are seeking and hoping to accomplish in the therapeutic alliance.
